Hidetoshi Nakayama Gear System Pen - Wood w/Lanyard Loop

Hidetoshi Nakayama is a Japanese knife maker and artist. He is renowned for his detail skills and old world craftsmanship. His bolt action pens are a perfect example of an artist making a ubiquitous item into a functional work of art. Each of these pens are crafted by hand by Hidetoshi and therefore no two are exactly the same. This Gear System Pen features a stainless steel body with wood outer body. The grip is expertly turned to feature a detailed, multi-diameter design. All metal aspects feature a satin finish. The lanyard loop has Hidetoshi's industrial design style, freely rotates and pivots independently of the main pen body, with brush flats and polished details. If you need to detach the pen from whatever you cook to the loop, simply unscrew it and you are ready to write. The pièce de résistance (on an already stunning pen) is the gear advancing mechanism! Two contacting gears, connected to a lever, operate the pen mech. Simply rotate the top gear, and the system functions to extend the carrier that holds the ink cartridge and in turn extends the writing tip. To retract, simply flick the gear the other way, and you are set! The body has been windowed to allow you to see the internal workings as they move! The pen is easily refilled by simply unscrewing the tip and replacing the cartridge.
