No Flipper?? Why do they make both Mounds and Almond Joy? Well cause sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't! Every now and then your pals at Hinderer will do a batch of the world famous XM-18's minus the flipper tab. Some people like to just use the thumb-stud to open their knife and prefer the slightly more streamlined carry without the flipper tab.
The Blade: Recurve blade profile with pointy, fine tip and a large recurved belly that is a superb all around profile perfect for finer work, and excellent cutting ability. Finished with Hinderer's Working Finish.
The Frame: Titanium frame and scale liner with Hinderer's Battle Blue Finish. G10 scale with XM texture.
Tri-Way Pivot System: Hinderer's new Tri-Way pivot system lets you configure your XM-18 further than ever before! The system lets the end-user configure their knife's pivot system to their own personal preference, with choice of bearing, teflon washers or bronze phosphor washers. Simply disassemble the knife, and install whichever option suits your needs!
Note: Disassembly of pivot is required to change pivot system. Hinderer Armorer Tool is recommended for the job. Remember, use the right tools, or feel like a fool!
About the XM-18: The XM-18 is the combination of over 25 years of old world knife making craftsmanship combined with modern 3D design and CNC technology. The result is a folder that performs like a fixed blade that has become one of the benchmarks in the hard use folder category. Framelock side features the patented Hinderer Lockbar Stabilizer (LBS) which prevents over torquing of the lockbar which can happen under stress (especially when using gloves). The XM-18 series of folders are completely modular. Just about every part (including scale, screws, standoffs, pivot, clip, etc.) can be changed by the user to suit their tastes. Pocket clip can be set for tip-up or tip-down carry.
