Kiku Matsuda's Kobanzame is a mid sized stout blade with a thicker overall build making it a superb option to fill a smaller utility role. The Drop point blade profile has a Hamaguri-ba (convex zero-grind) bevel. This puts more strength and weight behind the edge, making for a beefy blade that still excels at cutting tasks. The Kobanzame is ground from OU-31 for excellent edge retention. The handle profile along with the sculpted G10 handles help the knife stay put during hard use. Comes in a molded kydex sheath and DOTS Mount.
The Blade: Drop profile with upper, Hamaguri-ba (convex zero-grind) edge with top swedge. Acid etched finish with polished edge.
The Handle: G10 grip scales with sculpted texture for added (but not too aggressive) grip.
