Kiku Matsuda's Mutsu is a long, heavy duty blade skirting the line between long knife and short sword with a classic wakizashi vibe. The straight, upswept spearpoint blade is ground from .250 inch thick OU-31 for great edge retention and features a Hamaguri-ba (convex zero-grind) bevel and upper swedge along most of the spine. The Hamaguri-ba edge grind and upswept profile makes this a very versatile profile whether your piercing, chopping, or slashing. The spine/thumb ramp has extra jimping for better control during finer cutting tasks. The G10 handles are contoured and sculpted to help the knife stay put during hard use. Comes in a molded kydex sheath ready for your preferred mounting solution.
The Blade: Long drop point profile with upper swedge and Hamaguri-ba (convex zero-grind) edge from and given an acid etched finish.
The Handle: G10 grip scales with sculpted texture for added (but not too aggressive) grip.
